Avalanche Sign Ryan O'Reilly, Stoa and Wilson cut

Today the Colorado Avalanche announced a signing and two cuts.

First, the signing: I think it's an indication that the 33rd overall pick in last years draft has made the team. He was expected by most to be sent back to the OHL, but this signing, coupled with strong play in the preseason has changed things. He could/may still get sent back to Erie of the OHL after 9 NHL games, however.

On the other spectrum, Stoa, who many expected to make the team, has been cut. Ryan Wilson is no surprise because the Avs have great depth at defense this season.

Of the remaining players, I think it's safe to assume Weiman and Durno will be cut. One of Peltier or Cumiskey might stick with the Avs as a 7th defenseman, but that all depends on the health of Tom Preissing, who hasn't played a preseason game due to a knee (?) injury.

My prediction for the opening night roster: (barring a trade)

Center: Duchene, Hendricks, O'Reilly, Stastny
Left Wing: Koci, McLeod, Tucker, Wolski
Right Wing: Hejduk, Hensick, Jones, Stewart
Defense: Clark, Foote, Hannan, Liles, Quincey, Salei
Goalie: Anderson, Budaj

I'm not sure if/where Galiardi fits in, but it'll probably be in place of Koci or Hensick if he makes the team.

EDIT: Yikes, forgot about Svatos completely. Hat tip to Matt for point that out.

Svatos presence on the team often slips my mind, which shows you how far he has fallen.
