Shockingly, Pierre Lacroix opened up about everything in a recent Woody Paige article. The only problem with the article is the part where Paige compared LW Ryan Stoa to former Avalanche defenseman Uwe Krupp.
Other than that, the article is great. Lacroix blames himself for the situation the team is in, and reveals he plans to rebuild the team the same way he did before: two top centers (hello, Stastny and Duchene...hopefully) and a top goalie. Obviously, Colorado doesn't have a top goalie, but Lacroix seems to have faith in Anderson and two unnamed goalies (assumed to be Kieran Millan, 19, and Trevor Cann, 20).
Personally, I think Lacroix has the right idea. Where Colorado will get the goalie, I don't know. Could it be Anderson? I'm not going to bet on it, but I don't think it's all that much of a long shot either. The skill is there, but it needs to be translated over 55-60 games.
Of the other two young goalies, both have shown some promise. I tend to think Millan is the product of the team around him, but he still went 29-2-3. You have to be good to do that. Cann, on the other hand, has gotten a bad wrap for his inconsistent play (and subsequent benching) during the 3rd round of the OHL playoffs last year (though, it's rumored he had the flu). Other than that series, he stood on his head, going 30-10-1 in the regular season (with London) and going 9-4 (9-1-3) in the playoffs last season.
Also, it needs to be noted the previous starter in London, 3rd round draft pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets Steve Mason. Hopefully Colorado will get a lucky repeat with Cann, but I'm not holding my breath.
