Bad news all around in what appears to be my second blog of the night:
- First, the Flames signed Jay-Bo. Yeah, it was a given at this point, but still disheartening.
- The previous tid bit was followed up by news that Danny Heatley is on the verge of being traded to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Andrew Cogliano, Dustin Penner and Ladislav Smid. Wait, so now you're telling me Bouwmeester AND Heatley are being added to the division? Have mercy, the Avalanche would have had a tough enough time without those two.
- Moments ago, Adrian Dater posted a blog saying the Avs may try to get their salary as low as 43 million dollars and hinted at the names Smyth, Clark, Liles, Salei, Tucker, Hannan, and Foote all on the chopping block. Unless AD has been misinformed (a strong possibility), we may see Colorado to do nothing substantial tomorrow (i.e. no upgrade in goal).
All we can do now is wait.
UPDATE: Apparently Heatley wouldn't have his no-trade clause to go to Edmonton, and the deal is dead. Who can blame him for not wanting to go to Edmonton? (I kid, I kid)
