According to this Adrian Dater blog, Stastny will be out the next 2-4 weeks with a broken bone in his foot. Or in other words, he's done for the season.
Is anyone else a little worried that our franchise player, who'll make 6.6 million the next 5 seasons (more than both Mike Richards and Jeff Carter), might be a tad injury prone? Ignoring the appendectomy (which I've had, and has nothing to do with being injured on ice), Stastny's been very injury prone these last 12 months: he had the knee injury last year in the playoffs, broke his forearm this season, and now has broken a bone in his foot.
Hopefully these injuries are just a result of Stastny breaking a mirror, or walking under a ladder. If not, we may be in for a longer rebuild than it appears (assuming that's possible).
On another note, it looks like Sakic will return at some point; probably around like 4 games from now. This probably will be the last season of his career, so if you need a reason to continue to watch this train wreck of a team, I just gave you one hundred.
