Yeller To The B's

Tsn is reporting the Boston Bruins have signed former Avalanche forward Stephane Yelle to a one year deal.

Good move for Boston, bad move by Colorado. This offseason Giguere has had no problem signing old players (Tucker, Willsie, etc.), so why wouldn't he bring back Yelle, who for 750K could have provided the Avs with alot more than Willsie will. Faceoffs weren't good enough last season, and the PK was a joke (19th in the league at 81.4%).

I'm not trying to rag all over Giguere, because he's done some good things as the Avs GM. However, he's done some very questionable things as well.

My thoughts on the Brian McCabe trade:
Things were just a mess in Toronto, and the bitter marriage went through a nasty divorce. This guy is average defensively, but he can play better if not given such of a top defensive role, but instead the role of a PP specialist.

Here are some interesting numbers I pulled up:

(Over the last 3 seasons)

McCabe - 209 GP; 39-109-148, +0

Boyle - 198 GP; 39-102-141, -42

Rafalski - 237 GP; 27-132-159, +31

Redden - 209 GP; 13-101-124, +47
